BIOGRAPHY

For the past three years, millions of Canadian Space: The Imagination Station viewers enjoy Rick Wharton's character "The Conspiracy Guy", whose rapid-fire rants reveal the hidden truths of our time. Wharton's talents reach well beyond those as portrayed in this widely recognizable character. He is in fact a comedian, actor, producer, writer, entrepreneur, music promoter. Rick was formally educated at York University, Ryerson Polytechnical and was a promoter for Universal/MCA before pursuing his love of performing on a full time basis.

Rick has appeared in films, television, commercials, music videos, live comedy and theatre productions. He enjoyed several years with Second City as a principal player and both produced and performed in the acclaimed "Rick's Improv Cafe" at Toronto's Laugh Resort for five years. For the past six years, Rick has produced "Yo Adrian!" a sold-out variety show blending music and comedy, benefiting Barrett House, a Toronto AIDS/HIV residential facility. Rick was also the winner of TMN'S Standup "The Next Jerry Seinfeld" Award. He tours with Canada's guitar virtuoso Rik Emmett, opening many performances for him. Rick is a popular figure in Canada's entertainment industry, and has performed at several prestigious events. He also enjoys performing for private corporate functions.
