Ryan Walter
BIOGRAPHY

Ryan Walter retired from Professional Hockey in 1993 after playing 15 seasons in the National Hockey League. Drafted second overall by the Washington Capitals in 1978, Ryan was named Captain during his 4 years with that organization, went on to play 9 seasons with the Montreal Canadians, winning a Stanley Cup in 1986, and finally returned to his home town to play his last two years for the Vancouver Canucks.
He was the Team Canada captain in the World Junior Tournament, was selected to play in the NHL All-star game in 1983, for Team Canada in four World Championships, and was named the NHL Man of the Year in 1992 for his contributions on and off the ice. He was selected by his peers to be a player representative and Vice-president of the National Hockey League Players Association. During his final year in the NHL, Ryan reached the milestone of playing in his 1000th NHL Game, and after retirement represented the Vancouver Canucks as their 25th Anniversary Ambassador.
Since retiring Ryan has very much enjoyed being the "Color-Man" broadcasting NHL games for TV. Ryan is also President of www.hotHOCKEY.com building the largest HOCKEY content site on the Internet, coaching his 3 boys in minor hockey and an ever increasing schedule of Corporate Motivational Speaking.
