Rob McLean
ROB McLEAN

After a few hundred thousand gigs it’s hard to keep track of all Rob McLean has done. That number may be a little high but it’s close. McLean’s activities include music direction for TV and stage shows, comedy improv gigs, studio work, composing and producing. McLean also writes scripts for TV and stage projects. This year saw him complete his 5th year as music director for the Canadian Comedy Awards, complete his first solo recording, produce an animated television commercial, provide music for a production at the Humber School of Comedy and generally keep his day-timer full.
Recent past credits include writing and directing a film for the Comedy Network entitled “King For A Day” - a look into the world of Elvis impersonators and composing the theme song for a Life Network series “Sketch Troop”. “Sketch Troop” was a reality show that gave a little insight into the world of comedic actors as they prepare for a big showcase and McLean was also an on camera performer as the troop’s musician and one of their coaches.
Fairly recent credits would include keyboard session player and producer for corporate and commercial projects. Not so recent credits include stand-up gigs, summer stock work as director and music guy, jingle writer, radio morning show writer, session player and a stint as a Programming Director for an Arts Council.
