Jeffrey Knight – Actor/Writer/Comedian…
Edutainer!
Jeffrey Knight is a graduate of the University of Waterloo and holds a degree in Drama and Classics. He is also a graduate of the Strategic Coach Program’s Master Class for Entrepreneurs. He has spent most of his life performing in the theater and in the film and television industries. Jeffrey has been involved in every conceivable genre of production from Brecht to Burlesque. He was a protégé of the late Alan Lund who gave him his first professional engagement. Jeffrey later performed for the famed Director in a variety of roles. As an actor his credits include appearances on major stages right across North America. Selected rolls include Leads in The Golden Promise, A Midsummer Nights Dream (Bottom), What The Butler Saw and Lend Me A Tenor (Max).
He is also a very busy commercial T.V. and Voice Artist, having spent thousands of hours in front of the lens and microphone. His Take A Look At Us Now Toronto campaign for Ford swept the Bessies with awards for Best Campaign, Best Single and Commercial of The Year. Dozens of later spots throughout the campaign also won awards at The London International Advertising Awards and Gold at The Marketing Awards and lasted an unprecedented 7 years. These commercials allowed Jeffrey to crisscross Canada improvising with citizens and get a real feel for the country. Jeffrey’s background in History was enhanced by each interview as he learned the local lore. His guerilla style – improv commercial making recently garnered him a spokesperson gig in L.A. for the World’s Largest Honda Dealer.
Jeffrey also has an impressive list of corporate clients who hire him to spice up their presentations or motivate their teams. His rare combination of show & biz makes for the perfect blend during meetings and conferences. Most recently he collaborated with Great North Productions where he wrote and shot the pilot “Pitched Battle”.
Jeffrey was the winner of Shout Night Club’s “Search for the Funniest Stand-Up Comedian” contest. In television he has had guest starring and/or recurring roles in Jett Jackson, The 5th., Quadrant, Earth: Final Conflict, The Rez, PSI Factor, Top Cops, E.N.G., Adderly, My Secret Identity and War of The Worlds. As a young performer he worked with Wayne and Shuster on a series of CBC specials. Career Highlights include performing in Gross Misconduct for director Atom Egoyan, Dog Boys for Ken Russell and A Saintly Switch for Disney, directed by Peter Bogdanavich.
In addition to his work on-stage and on-camera Jeff is one of the world’s most experienced stunt water-skiers -- co-founding Summer Water Sports, he employed over 50 artists during the summer months that perform in excess of 115 live shows, before selling the company once he moved to Los Angeles. He has produced and co-ordinated aquatic stunts for film and television including a Sea•Doo Ski & Stunt Show in the world’s first indoor lake - Lake Wow, at the CNE Coliseum.
Jeff's Professional Skiing Career started in 1982. He is a specialist in Jumping and Barefooting. In 1985 his skiing talent took him abroad where he skied for a US based ski company in Germany. From Germany to Italy and then back to various US show sites (Cypress Gardens, Sea World Texas, Marine World Aftrica U.S.A & Tommy Bartlett Ski Sky & Stage Show [Wisconsin Dells]).
After performing at the World Water Ski Championships in Talouse France, Jeff headed to Sea World Australia for a year (to ski and swim with sharks – literally) before returning to North America to Produce Stunt Ski Shows. An accomplished skier and performer, Jeffrey feels comfortable either backwards barefooting at 40 mph, or taking jump boats over ramps. Often on Terra Firma he will take a microphone in hand and announce the show or entertain the audience.
Off the water temporarily and out of the comedy clubs for the time being, in order to help his wife raise two beautiful children, Jeffrey enjoys performing close to home.
